Our Story.
Over the last 66 years Camerons has evolved as a traditional company whose objectives are to deliver quality construction by using the most up to date building practices. This is underpinned by an inherent knowledge of the Island’s requirements, business practice, and challenges.
Now employing over 50 people and working on many landmark developments such as; the redevelopment of Bath Street, Ann Court & Summerland for Andium, the Jersey International Finance Centre, The Weighbridge House, Household Recycling Centre, Clarkson House for Jersey Hospice Care, the Jersey Energy for Waste, 44 Esplanade, Les Verrieres at Greve de Lecq, the Waterfront including the Radisson, Albert Pier Housing and the Leisure Centre; Camerons has earned the confidence of customers, subcontractors, employees and the community alike.
The Management Team.
Marc Burton
Managing Director
Marc joined Camerons in 2000 and was previously Managing Director from 2007-2016 and has remained as Chairman of Camerons since becoming an Executive Director at Camerons parent company, Garenne in 2016.
Marc will continue in his role at Garenne which includes non-executive positions with AFM, Granite Le Pelley Jersey and Rabey’s.
Marc was the Project Director for the design and Construction of the 180 bed Jersey Nightingale Hospital and was awarded an MBE for services to the community during the pandemic in recognition of his role on this project.
Marc is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Building and a Member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors and was the winner of the 2021 CIOB Construction Manager of Year award for his role on the Jersey Nightingale.
Marc plays an active role in the Jersey community as a Governor at Highlands College, Vice Chairperson of the Jersey Cheshire Home and Vice Chairperson of the Jersey Construction Council.
Olivier Champetier
Construction Director
Olivier returns for his third spell at Camerons, working firstly with Marc back in 2000 on the Albert Pier project, a joint venture between Camerons and Spie Batignolles, secondly as Construction Director from 2014-2020 before returning to France during the pandemic.
Since graduating Engineering from the “Ecole Centrale Nantes”, Olivier has gained strong experience in construction and project management during the last 28 years, working in top construction groups and leading multi-million pound project teams on General Hospitals, Law Courts, Public Infrastructures, Schools, Universities, Offices and Housing.
We are very pleased to welcome Oliver back into the team, bringing a wealth of experience, knowledge and understanding of the local market whilst strengthens our ability to source and attract contractors or suppliers from France and other European counties.
Gary McGuire
Pre-Construction Director
Gary was previously part of the J3 team working for Garenne joint venture partner Sir Robert McAlpine’s, which saw J3 successfully secure the Future Hospital contract, tender for the Our Hospital project and Gary was a key part of the delivery team with Marc on the Jersey Nightingale project.
Gary has lived in Jersey since 2018 and has a wealth of pre and post contract construction experience and knowledge and understanding of the local market.
The new role of Pre-Construction Director is particularly important to Camerons as we work with Client’s earlier in the pre-construction phases to ensure risk, methodology and design considerations are factored in to ensure best value for our clients.
