On Friday 27th April Camerons successfully handed over the Premier Inn Hotel and not long before that the new Co-op store. This was part of a major multi-million pound redevelopment which is transforming Charing Cross. The scheme includes the new 5,000 square foot Co-operative Local store, which delivers 2,000 sq ft of retail space and took 121 weeks to complete, and the new hotel - all within one building. The five-storey building is structured around a concrete frame with stone-clad external elevations incorporating areas of glazing and curtain-walling, and a flat roof fitted with solar panels. The construction works also include the upgrading of a street which runs alongside the new building, the special paving and the installation of lighting is to create a 'river of light'.
Camerons were delighted to be part of such a major restoration of important historic buildings.
