Matthew Poole applies sunscreen to Jack Brown, aided by Lee Le Viellez, as part of the Donna Annand Melanoma Charity's drive to raise awareness of sun safety among people who work outdoors.
Builders and other islanders who work outdoors are encouraged to slap on the sun cream and protect their skin as part of the new safety campaign. The Donna Annand Melanoma Charity was set up in memory of 29-year old Donna, who died in 2011 of stage IV malignant melanoma. The charity has teamed up with us, who Donna worked for as a quantity surveyor, and Normans to make our and their outdoor workers aware of protection in the hot weather.
And in case you are struggling to apply your own sun screen, get your colleagues to assist!
